The Melody Steel Drum is the bedfellow of thetraditional drum but while the original drumproduces beats, this drum produces notes.
This drum is a metallic instrument with six ‘tongues’ producing different sounds, which create possibilities of a different scale, and so each drum has a different character.
The drumitself serves as the sound box and so its soundsare deep and continuous.
